Machinists Union members were in full force in Las Vegas for the 36th Annual William W. Winpisinger Charity Banquet, where volunteers, donors and allies raised nearly $1.5-million dollars for Guide Dogs of America, which provides guide dogs free of charge to blind and visually impaired men and women in the United States and Canada.
With the help of the IAMAW, the school was founded in 1948 after a blind Machinists Union member was rejected for a guide dog due to his age of 57. Guide Dogs of America has no upper-age limit.
