A Labor Day Message from the International President

Dear Sisters, Brothers and Friends of Our Union,

Happy Labor Day to you and your families. Today we recognize the accomplishments and progress we have madeā€”and continue to makeā€”for working people everywhere.

Throughout our history, we have always faced challenges. Today is no different. For 130 years, our union has never backed down.

I want to take this opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to all working people and our movement for dignity, justice and respect on the job. Without your dedication, we would not be as strong as we are today.

Thanks to you, the Machinists Union is becoming bolder and stronger by the day. We are standing up to companies thatĀ attack our members. We are organizing in places like South Carolina, where they said we could not bring people together. We are turning back anti-worker policies in Missouri and across the country. Our members are moving this nation forward on the job and at the ballot box. We are not looking back.

Together, we will continue our march toward a better life for every working family. I wish you all a safe, happy and healthy holiday.

In solidarity,

Robert Martinez Jr.
International President
