The time is now for working people to unite like never before, said IAM International President Bob Martinez in a rousing speech to the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.
“I firmly believe that the time is now for a united, strong, unbreakable movement of working people standing for a better life,” said Martinez. “I cannot think of a more important time than right now to fight like hell for working people.”

Martinez addressed more than 800 CBTU delegates with a message focused on solidarity, justice, respect and dignity.
The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, founded in 1972, is the largest independent voice of more than 2.2-million African-American workers in labor unions today. With more than 50 chapters in major U.S. cities and one in Ontario, Canada, CBTU is dedicated to addressing the unique concerns of black workers and their communities.
