As the saying goes—if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Just like any other day of the year, Election Day can be pretty hectic.
Having a voting plan in place will increase the chances of being able to cast your ballot for the candidates of your choosing. Here’s some helpful resources:
Where do I vote? Text POLL to 235246. You’ll get a text back with your voting location and polling hours.
What will be on my ballot? You’re not just voting for president. There’s state and local races and ballot measures, too. Visit BallotPedia.org for a sample ballot.
What are my rights? Don’t let anyone intimidate you. Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE to speak to a voter protection expert.
Who stands with working families? The IAM, through a member survey, endorsed Hillary Clinton, an honorary Machinists Union member. She knows that unions are vitally important to protecting and expanding the middle class, and will fight to make our economy work for all of us, not just those at the top. Clinton stands for good jobs, affordable health care, retirement security, common-sense trade deals and strong public schools. She’s with us.
Listen to Hillary address IAM members here.
OK, I voted. Now what? Share a selfie of you and your “I voted” sticker! If you’re out volunteering, we’d love to see that, too. Be sure to use the hashtag #1uVote and tag the Machinists Union on Facebook and Twitter.
Stay tuned to our social media accounts and goIAM.org for continuous updates throughout Election Day and into the evening.
